Sheldon Shaw
Sheldon Shaw is a professional tattoo and body modification artist. He started his apprenticeship when he was 18 years old at Little Shop of Horrors Tattoo and Piercing Studio in Johannesburg. He studied Fine Art at Witswatersrand University for 3 years. He did his apprenticeship on weekends and in his holidays throughout varsity. He started tattooing and body piercing in August 2015.
Sheldon mostly prefers to do black and grey tattoos, stipple/dot work and fine line tattoos, i.e. mandala’s, script pieces. He also excels at colour tattoos, and particularly enjoys watercolour and bright, vibrant colour
tattoos. He loves being able to create unique designs and doing something different from the norm.
He loves to do piercings and pretty much anything to do with the body
modification industry. He is passionate in his endeavours and carries his enthusiasm through to everything he does.
Sheldon enjoys gaming in his spare time, checking out art, whether it’s at
galleries or trawling Pinterest. Being able to spend time with friends and family and just enjoying life to the fullest! Learning and growing is always valuable in both business and his personal life.
Cindy Lategan
Cindy Lategan is a professional tattoo and piercing artist. She grew up in Bloemfontein and relocated to Durban when she was 16. Art was one of her favorite subjects at school and it has always played a big role in her life. After obtaining her degree in Media and Communication and Afrikaans and Nederlands she realized that her only passion was art.
She relocated to Nelspruit and opened her own art and craft shop where she extended her passion even more by teaching and getting creative with all mediums of art. Later she moved back to Durban and when the opportunity presented itself to become a tattooist, she jumped at it.
Her favorite style is whip shading and detailed pieces which includes colour and water colour work as well as opaques. “The art of creating unique designs from the time I get to meet with my clients to when I get to hand them their custom piece, and once the tattoo is completed, is one of the most rewarding things. I have tried many different careers but I finally found the one that has made my heart full. They say do what you love and love what you do and I am so grateful that I can do that.”
She is now a full time tattoo artist at our studio and has been tattooing for the past year after completing an apprenticeship of 8 months, honing her skills to become one of the up-and-coming female artists in South Africa.
