In July 2021 South Africa erupted. It was a terrifying time for all of us when it started, especially in KZN and Gauteng. But out of the ashes, something incredible was born. South Africans came out of their homes en-masse and protected our suburbs and citizens with a togetherness seldom seen before. It was the week we came together. It reminded us of when we all came together during the 2010 Soccer World Cup. Our Fine Line artists also helped in their respective communities where they could. To honour our local heroes in our community, ordinary men and women, Fine Line offered free Home Hawks NHW (Neighbourhood Watch) logos to those registered with the group and gave 25% off any tattoo or piercing. This was a dark time for us all with the uncertainty and fear, but it was also an amazing South African moment that will go down in history for our coming together so quickly, for our protection of each other, for doing the massive clean-ups after, for assisting those left without food and unable to shop, and for being what we are first and foremost – South Africans. One country, one people, as it should be. We will never forget the week we came together.

Fine Line hosted a Durban-wide Easter Egg Hunt in March/April 2021. Many different companies came on board and ‘hid’ the eggs. All you had to do was follow the coordinates and then work out the clues. Feedback from those who played the game was ‘it was enormous fun!’ One of our players made a vlog which can be viewed below. Be sure to watch out for more fun from Fine Line going forward.
We turned four years old! On the 1st March 2021 we celebrated by handing out cupcakes to all who walked through our door. Each cupcake was numbered and each number was attached to a surprise. One lucky person went home with a R1000 tattoo voucher while others received free 5cm x 5cm tattoo vouchers, R100 vouchers, free piercings, a piece of jewelry of their choice and many other prizes. All in all we had 60 people walk through our doors.
Valentine’s Day 2021 was a day to celebrate those we love, whether spouses, partners, family or friends. What could be better than getting matching tattoos or piercings to celebrate your love for one another. Fine Line enjoys celebrating with you in our vibey, welcoming atmosphere.
Fine Line Tattoo and Piercing believes in safety first. We started our Aktivora deep-cleaning in early January 2021 to keep our clients and ourselves safe during this pandemic. We follow all rules and regulations and ensure our studio is pristine and safe for you to visit.
Fine Line believes in giving back to the community of Durban by dedicating some months to fundraising and drives. With the help of the broader community of Durban, and their solid support, the Fine Line team managed to raise a whopping R40,250.00 for Hands for Hearts during the month of October.
Hands for Hearts is a non-profit organisation which assists many communities around Durban. The money raised was used to purchase much-needed projectors for the Fulton School of the Deaf; projectors that can be used with the lights on, allowing the children to see the teacher signing to them. This has been sorely needed.
Our clients and community members also delivered non-perishable food items to the studio for Hands for Hearts. These were distributed to families in need. Fine Line will be continuing to collect these food items and anyone who brings four or more items will receive a R200 voucher.
To raise the money, the Fine Line artists tattooed many flashes, each at R300 per tattoo. The entire proceeds went to Hands for Hearts and a huge thank you goes to our artists for donating their time and skill to this worthy cause.
Fine Line helped sponsor #DemiGoddess to get to the IFBB World Championships by sponsoring a R3000 voucher as a prize. We believe in our incredible sports men and women and will always help where we can.
Fine Line hosts an epic Halloween party each year. It has become our tradition. See photos below for the ghostly fun had by all who attended.
Fine Line had a fun ‘Get what you Get’ day in September 2019. Flash designs were thrown into a basket for clients to blindly choose from. All flashes were at R300 each – an amazing bargain. Fun days are part of Fine Line’s history (and future).
Fine Line artists battled it out by choosing three lucky winners to get a tattoo designed by each artist. The public did the judging on Facebook and it was a fun time for all.
Happy second birthday to Fine Line. To celebrate our 2nd birthday, we had a fun time celebrating with our clients, handing out cupcakes and, at the bottom of some cupcakes, there were special vouchers for lucky people.
R300 got you or your partner an awesome hand-drawn tattoo, drawn by you or your partner! A super-fun day was had by all our clients.
The Fine Line crew invited clients and members of the public to join them at Angelo’s in Umhlanga village. Taking a photo with the crew and uploading it put people into a draw for a R1000 Fine Line voucher. Easy-peasy and fun.
We sold R100 raffle tickets to raise funds for Ridge Haven. All proceeds went to the cause. As always, the community were amazing and the prize winners were elated.
Flash tattoos at R300 each were offered during Rage 2018. The client gets a choice from an existing flash sheet. We also gave 20% off all piercings to support our matriculants and future leaders.
